Connexions

Connexions is an artist's book where art and science meet. The living is at the centre of attention, always on the move and working to decompartmentalise. On the one hand, there is an intimate narrative, poetry and an experience of love that finds its resolution in the back-and-forth between two settings: the forest of Brocéliande and scientific laboratories. We discover strange phenomena in animal cells, aquatic micro-organisms and macrophages, as well as researchers and scientists who take a step back from their daily experience in the laboratory.
On either side of the book is a flipbook with images shot in the forest and in the laboratory. The images are superimposed in search of common ground between the astronomical and the microscopic. The book can be read forwards and backwards, turned round and round, and invites us to open up our understanding to a plural world.
